Ray J has shed light on a tense encounter with Diddy’s sons—Justin, Christian, and Quincy—while chatting with Nicki Minaj on Instagram Live. The “One Wish” artist didn’t hold back as he recounted the incident, which took place at a Halloween party over the weekend.
During the Instagram Live session on October 30, Nicki Minaj directly asked if Ray J had been “fighting in the club.” Ray J clarified, saying, “No, we didn’t have a fight. We had a big argument right outside the club.”
He explained that while it got loud and intense, no physical altercation took place. “This was the third time something like this happened,” he continued. “I felt like I needed to stand up for myself.”
Despite the heated exchange, Ray J shared that he ultimately wanted to avoid confrontation. “Even though I was talking a lot and things got intense, I was actually walking away to keep things from escalating,” he said.
Fortunately, Ray J and the Combs brothers later smoothed things over during a lengthy phone conversation. “What’s dope is that we all got on the phone and talked for about 35 minutes,” Ray J said, adding that he’s relieved they cleared the air.
The disagreement reportedly stemmed from Ray J’s controversial comments on his web series, The Reality Check with Ray J, which have apparently struck a nerve with Diddy’s sons.
Ray J recalled a previous encounter, saying, “They’ve tried to confront me before. Justin even told me, ‘Let’s take a fade. I don’t like what you’re saying about my dad.’”
Reflecting on the situation, Ray J expressed regret that things had become so tense, adding, “I feel sad that violence has even become a consideration in these situations. We shouldn’t be turning to that.”
With the drama now seemingly behind them, Ray J emphasized the importance of keeping peace and focusing on resolving misunderstandings. “We don’t need to be at each other’s throats—there are better ways to settle differences,” he concluded.
