Pleasure P, the former member of Pretty Ricky, is demanding long-overdue credit and compensation for what he claims is his co-writing role in Lil Wayne’s 2008 smash hit, “Lollipop.” The chart-topping track, which has reportedly generated $28 million in revenue, remains one of Lil Wayne’s most iconic releases.
Taking to Instagram Live, Pleasure P shared his grievances while the song played in the background, alleging he co-wrote the hit alongside the late Static Major but never received proper acknowledgment or royalties.
“I wrote that,” he stated emphatically. “Rex Zamor, Tez… Lil Wayne’s longtime manager, Wayne, Mack Maine: I need my plaque for this song, bro. Jim Jonsin ‘Lollipop’ producer, y’all can do something about this. But nobody cares about me anymore.”
According to Pleasure P, Rex Zamor, a credited co-writer, holds his publishing rights, leaving him without his due share of the song’s success. “Before my first album even came out, I wrote this song with Static,” he explained.
The R&B singer also vented frustration over his current struggles, sharing, “My son just got out of jail. I ain’t got time for this no more, bro. Just give me what I deserve. I’m a part of Wayne’s biggest record… 1.3 million sold in the first week. And I haven’t been able to celebrate that.”
In a fiery moment during the live session, Pleasure P called out Zamor, now a key player at CMG and a manager for rising star GloRilla, accusing him of seeking the spotlight. “That’s my old manager, who’s standing behind GloRilla on red carpets because he wants to be seen,” he quipped.
