A chilling twist has emerged in the investigation of last month’s tragic Air India crash… and it’s raising serious questions about what unfolded in the cockpit moments after takeoff.
According to a report by The Wall Street Journal, black box recordings from the ill-fated London-bound Boeing 787 suggest that the aircraft’s fuel supply was deliberately shut off shortly after takeoff… an action that would cause both engines to fail mid-air.
The captain at the helm, Sumeet Sabharwal… reportedly nicknamed “Sad Sack” during flight school for his somber demeanor… is heard in the cockpit voice recording just before the plane lost power. His co-pilot, Clive Kunder, is captured asking, “Why did you cut it off?”… referencing the fuel switch. Sabharwal can be heard denying the action.
Experts say fuel switches control the flow of fuel to a jet’s engines and are typically used during startup, shutdown, or in emergencies. Shutting them off mid-flight is not only unusual… it’s extremely difficult to do unintentionally.
India’s Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has confirmed the fuel switches had indeed been turned off, aligning with the revelations from the black box.
As the official investigation continues, the aviation world is watching closely. Was it a mechanical malfunction… or something far more disturbing?
