Artist Nicki Minaj is set to make a triumphant return as both host and performer at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, marking her second consecutive year in this prestigious role.
As reported by Billboard, the talented rapper, known for her iconic Pinkprint album, will be responsible for revealing the star-studded lineup of performers, presenters, and the deserving winners during the live music extravaganza. This exciting event is scheduled to take place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, on Tuesday, September 12.
In a unique feat, Minaj will not only host the event but will also grace the stage with a performance of her latest single, “Last Time I Saw You.” This marks the first time since 2008 and 2009 when Russell Brand hosted the VMAs in consecutive years that an artist has assumed this dual role.
This year, Nicki Minaj’s outstanding contributions to the music industry have earned her a remarkable six nominations at the prestigious awards ceremony. She is in the running for Artist of the Year, Video of the Year, Best Hip Hop, and Best Visual Effects, all for her hit “Super Freaky Girl.”
Additionally, she’s nominated for Best R&B for “Love in the Way” and for the coveted Song of Summer category with “Barbie World,” featuring Ice Spice and Aqua.
In the previous edition of the MTV VMAs, Nicki Minaj shared hosting duties with LL Cool J and Jack Harlow, making it an unforgettable night for music enthusiasts.
Nicki Minaj’s return as both host and performer at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards promises to be a night filled with incredible performances, thrilling moments, and well-deserved accolades for the music industry’s finest talents.
