A small New Hampshire town is reeling after a heartbreaking tragedy where a mother is accused of fatally shooting her terminally ill husband and two of their children before taking her own life, authorities confirmed.
Police responded to a home on Moharimet Drive in Madbury just after 8:20 p.m. Monday, where they discovered four family members dead: Emily Long, 34, her husband Ryan Long, 48, and their two young sons, Parker, 8, and Ryan, 6. Their 3-year-old child was found unharmed inside the home.
Investigators say Emily Long used a handgun to shoot her husband… who had been diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer… and their two older children before turning the gun on herself. Autopsies revealed the children each died from a single gunshot to the head, while Ryan Long suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Emily died from a single self-inflicted wound.
Days before the killings, Emily shared emotional TikTok videos describing her loneliness, anxiety, and fears about raising three children alone. Known online as the “Brain Cancer Wife”, she documented her husband’s seizures, treatments, and the family’s daily struggles, amassing more than 170,000 followers.
“I feel very, very lonely. I feel so anxious,” she said in one video. “I know I need to see a therapist, I know I need to ask for help.”
She also confessed fears of “withering away” under the weight of caring for her husband and children. In another clip, Emily admitted the couple’s children were struggling emotionally, saying even their youngest was starting to show signs of distress.
