ByHeart has recalled all its baby formula products across the U.S. after at least 15 infants in 12 states were hospitalized with infant botulism. The FDA says the recall follows an investigation linking the illness to ByHeart’s powdered formula, though no sealed cans have tested positive yet.
ByHeart founders said the move was made “out of extreme caution,” stressing that “your baby’s safety will always be our top priority.” The recall includes all ByHeart Whole Nutrition Infant Formula and Anywhere Pack pouches sold online and at stores like Target, Walmart, and Whole Foods.
Parents should stop using and dispose of the product immediately and watch for warning signs such as constipation, weakness, or breathing problems. Infant botulism is rare but serious, and treatment requires a special antitoxin known as BabyBIG.
