NASA’s rover was able to capture images of what looks like spike structures on Mars. The SETI Institute is a research organization that focuses on searching for life in the universe.
The SETI Institute highlighted the image, calling it a “cool rock” at Gale crater on Mars. The spikes are most likely the cemented fillings of ancient fractures in a sedimentary rock. The rest of the rock was made of softer material and was eroded away.
Curiosity’s cameras allow it to see the big and the small of Mars, from large panoramas to little details on the ground.
