During a recent interview, the legendary producer shared that he’s been sitting on unreleased material from the iconic Queensbridge duo. But the bombshell? He and Havoc are teaming up to bring the tracks to life, with Nas joining in to make this project one for the history books.
While promoting his new album Life Is Beautiful with 2 Chainz and Larry June on The Breakfast Club, The Alchemist spoke about Mobb Deep’s legacy and teased the long-rumored project.
“They did so much work, it was insane,” he said, praising Prodigy’s lyricism. “You could just peel back layers in Prodigy’s rhymes. He was ahead of his time.”
Alchemist emphasized that Prodigy’s impact on hip-hop remains unmatched, and fans will finally get to experience more of his genius.
Confirming what fans have hoped for, Alchemist revealed that he and Havoc are spearheading the new Mobb Deep album… and Nas is part of the vision.
“P’s legend lives,” he said. “He did more than the average person while he was here, and he even left behind a lot of stuff, so we’re lucky enough to be working on a new Mobb Deep project.”
