Michael Rubin, the billionaire entrepreneur, recently opened up about his close friendship with rapper Lil Baby and the impact of a viral photo that caused a stir on social media.
During his appearance on Hot 97’s “Ebro in the Morning,” Rubin shared insights into his philanthropic work with the REFORM Alliance, his Fanatics Fest, and the strong bond he shares with Lil Baby.
“Lil Baby is one of the most genuine people I’ve ever met,” Rubin stated, highlighting the rapper’s dedication to charitable causes and his impressive work ethic.
Rubin fondly recalled meeting Lil Baby in the Bahamas with Drake in 2020, where he learned about the rapper’s inspiring journey from incarceration to music stardom.
“I had no knowledge of his music career when we first met,” Rubin admitted. “He told me about his time in jail and how he transitioned into a successful rap career. It’s impossible not to root for someone like him.”
The conversation took a serious turn when Rubin addressed the controversy surrounding a photo from his annual White Party, which showed him and another man hugging Lil Baby. The image went viral, attracting mockery from social media users, including 50 Cent.
Rubin expressed his dismay over the backlash, explaining that the photo was taken during a 13-hour party where everyone was intoxicated. “We were just having fun at a party. It’s ridiculous how people can twist things on social media,” he remarked.
