According to Billboard, Metro Boomin, the acclaimed music producer whose real name is Leland Tyler Wayne, has sold a portion of his entire publishing catalog to Shamrock Capital for nearly $70 million. Shamrock is known for investing in Taylor Swift’s Big Machine catalog, which they purchased from Ithaca Holdings, owned by Scooter Braun, in 2020.
Metro Boomin has achieved tremendous success over the years, including a number one album in December with HEROES & VILLAINS, featuring popular artists such as Travis Scott, Future, The Weeknd, Don Toliver, Young Thug, Chris Brown, A$AP Rocky, Gunna, and the late Takeoff from Migos.
Some of his most prominent hits include ‘Bad and Boujee’ by Migos, ‘Mask Off’ by Future, ‘Congratulations’ by Post Malone, ‘Bank Account’ by 21 Savage, ‘Father Stretch My Hands, Pt. 1’ by Kanye West, ‘Jumpman’ by Drake and Future, ‘Heartless’ by The Weeknd, ‘Waves’ by Kanye West, ‘Child’s Play’ by Drake, and ‘Tuesday’ by iLoveMakonnen.
