Meek Mill has recently addressed the criticism he faced after sharing a less-than-flattering image from his July 4th celebrations, which depicted him leaning over a toilet.
The photo in question was uploaded to Meek’s Instagram Story on Tuesday accompanied by a caption that read, “Too much liquor smh.”
Numerous fans wasted no time mocking the Dreams & Nightmares rapper online, poking fun at his apparent inability to handle alcohol. One critic even went as far as to claim, “Meek Mill is not a real person,” while another expressed frustration, stating, “bro Meek Mill really be pissing me off.” Meek took to Twitter to respond to the online discourse, asserting his right to express himself freely.
“We have so much influence they trying to use Small internet campaigns to sway the peoples perception of artist,” he replied. “We are basically our own media bases now and we can say what we want at will in front of millions and they don’t feel that!”
He further elaborated, “Anything I post they try to amplify it and me me look stupid … I wasn’t created on the internet and I know they got some of y’all in a trans threw social perception… that’s why content creators win because lead the narrative.”
