In a significant stride towards supporting education, Mary J. Blige and PepsiCo. Inc. have unveiled a remarkable opportunity: a $30,000 scholarship aimed at empowering female students at Hampton University. This philanthropic endeavor is an integral component of their “Strength of a Woman” scholarship initiative.
To be eligible for this prestigious scholarship, aspiring candidates must identify as female and be currently enrolled as a college sophomore with a commendable minimum GPA of 2.5. Furthermore, the scholarship is dedicated to students pursuing degrees in Business Administration, Marketing, Arts, Finance, or Creative Design.
The award holds the promise of renewal, extending up to one year or until the recipient secures their bachelor’s degree, depending on which milestone occurs first.
The application deadline for this extraordinary opportunity is Monday, October 16, at 3 p.m. All applicants will receive notifications regarding their application status in December.
This scholarship, brought to you by PepsiCo and Mary J. Blige, is a component of PepsiCo’s commendable $200,000 donation, which also supports local charitable organizations.
Mary J. Blige shared her perspective on this collaboration, stating, “The whole mission of this festival is to celebrate and advocate for Black women. So to have Pepsi show up and show out in the way they do is overwhelming. With their support for the Strength of a Woman Festival and Summit, we are able to pay it forward in so many impactful ways, and to be able to grant an HBCU scholarship for a deserving student is nothing short of incredible.”
