A massive police search is underway after 33-year-old Jamie Cooper escaped from a prison transport van on the M55 near Junction 2. Cooper faked a medical emergency, overpowered escort officers, and fled while en route to Lancaster Magistrates’ Court.
Originally from Blackpool, Cooper is 5ft 7in, of medium build, with short cropped hair. He was last seen wearing a blue coat, blue jeans, and black trainers. Wanted for assaulting a police officer and criminal damage, he has ties to Blackpool and Bolton.
Police warn the public not to approach him and to report any sightings immediately.
