Police rushed to St. Ann’s Church in Dongan Hills after receiving a 911 call about a disruptive individual inside the sanctuary. Officers attempted to escort the man out, but the situation quickly escalated near the altar.
Witnesses say flowers were knocked over as the man resisted, leading to a physical struggle with officers.
During the confrontation, he was struck in the head, dragged toward the exit, and continued fighting… attempting to kick officers as they tried to restrain him.
After a prolonged effort, police deployed a Taser and took the man into custody. Authorities confirmed he is not a member of the parish and was transported to a hospital for evaluation.
Charges are pending as the investigation continues.
