A 24-year-old Maine woman, Olivia Wilkins, was arrested after allegedly attempting to run over U.S. Border Patrol agents during the arrest of two undocumented immigrants, the Department of Homeland Security confirmed.
Wilkins faces charges including reckless conduct, criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, hindering apprehension, and failure to stop for police.
The incident unfolded in Knox County after Border Patrol and local officers responded to a crash involving Jhoan Andres Ortiz-Calderon, who had a deportation order, and Victor Hugo Cardona-Calderon, who overstayed his visa.
Authorities say Wilkins began yelling at officers before jumping into her car and swerving toward them at high speed. Deputies pursued her until she crashed and was taken into custody.
