In a touching revelation, popular rapper Lil Yachty recently disclosed his ongoing communication with Tay-K, who is currently serving a 55-year prison sentence for murder and robbery convictions stemming from a 2019 case involving the tragic death of 21-year-old Ethan Walker.
Lil Yachty took to his Instagram Stories to share this emotional connection, showcasing a letter he received from Tay-K.
Lil Yachty, known for his musical talent and heartfelt connections within the hip-hop community, made a heartfelt post on Instagram, offering a glimpse into his ongoing relationship with Tay-K.
The post featured a photo of a USPS box containing Tay-K’s letter, accompanied by the caption, “Real n***a @tayk47shawty.” While the contents of the letter remain undisclosed, it’s evident that Lil Yachty has been a steadfast source of support for the incarcerated rapper.
This is not the first instance of Lil Yachty’s support for Tay-K. In 2017, he collaborated with Tay-K on a remix of the breakout hit “The Race,” which achieved notable success, peaking at No. 44 on the Billboard Hot 100 during the summer of 2017. This collaboration highlights the camaraderie and mutual respect shared between the two artists.
Tay-K himself has been using his time behind bars for introspection and personal growth. Earlier this year, he penned a heartfelt letter to his fans, expressing his desire to transform into a positive role model who discourages violence.
In his handwritten letter, Tay-K reflected on his journey, writing, “I’m sitting here thinking about all my fans. I love and miss y’all,” he wrote in the handwritten letter. “I know there’s a lot that I haven’t directly spoke on and there R many things my fans know but I’m not sure everybody else does. I’ve been here for 5 ½ years now and I feel indebted to y’all for going so crazy behind me. It’s still crazy to me that I never had a chance to live outside as an adult. I’ve been locked up and in and out of the ‘justice’ and CPS system 4 my whole life.”
