In the debut episode of his highly anticipated podcast, “A Safe Place,” Lil Yachty candidly shared the reasons behind his aversion towards Jamaican artist Sean Paul. The young rapper recounted an incident where Paul had disparaged him during a radio interview, which led to a strained relationship between the two musicians.
Lil Yachty, who had previously invited fans to send their questions for the show, delved into the topic of artists who have experienced a decline in popularity alongside his co-host, MitchGoneMad.
During the engaging episode titled “The Art Of Hate,” Lil Yachty and MitchGoneMad explored the subject of artists who have fallen out of the spotlight. When Sean Paul’s name was brought up, Lil Yachty clarified that Sean Paul hadn’t necessarily “fallen off” but had instead chosen to take a break from releasing music.
However, the young rapper expressed his personal distaste for Sean Paul by using strong language, stating, “I don’t associate with Sean Paul.” The show featured an audio clip where Paul could be heard dismissing Lil Yachty’s talent, claiming that young artists like him shouldn’t be taken seriously in the hip hop industry. Paul went on to refer to Lil Yachty as “boat boy” when discussing him with others.
