In an exclusive interview with Grammy.com on September 25th, Shawn Setaro sat down with Lil Yachty to delve into the motivations behind his unconventional team composition.

When asked about his decision to exclusively hire women to support his stage act, Lil Yachty offered a heartfelt explanation. He shed light on how his life is intricately intertwined with the presence of women, from his assistants to his mother, who manages his affairs, and a majority of his close friends.

He elaborated, “My life is surrounded by women,” he explained. “My two assistants, my mother as a manager, a lot of my friends are women. Women really help me throughout my day.” This statement underscores the pivotal role women play in his personal and professional life.

Lil Yachty passionately believes in the immense power of women. He perceives them as the driving force behind the world, yet often underestimated and underrepresented. In his words, “I just think that women are so powerful. I feel like they rule the world. They are the most important aspect to this world and they don’t get enough credit or shine, especially black women. So that was my aura behind it. I just wanted to showcase that women can shred just as good as men.”
