Lil Tjay has sparked controversy by calling out Offset, accusing the Migos rapper of being “broke” and battling a gambling addiction.
During a Twitch stream on Wednesday (January 8), the Bronx rapper shared a wild story, claiming he encountered Offset in a casino and witnessed him frantically asking strangers for money after a losing streak.
“Why did I diss Offset? Offset is broke,” Lil Tjay began. “I saw him at a casino. He was panicking, asking random people for Cash Apps. He was really down bad.”
Tjay elaborated, suggesting that Offset’s financial troubles might stem from a gambling problem. According to him, the rapper was making desperate attempts to recover his losses but couldn’t reach anyone to help.
“I don’t know what was going on… nobody was answering his calls. He kept chasing, trying to win back what he lost. He must have a gambling addiction,” Tjay said.
The 23-year-old artist didn’t stop there. Tjay claimed that he loaned Offset $5,000 during their encounter and later gave him another $5,000. However, he alleges that Offset has yet to repay the money.
“I saw him rack up about $13,000 in loans at the casino that day,” Tjay said. “I don’t know who he paid back, but I haven’t seen my money. This man’s been ducking me for so long. Mind you, I’m 23, and this is ‘raindrop, drop-top,’ Cardi B’s husband.”
The feud escalated when alleged Instagram DMs between the two rappers surfaced online. In the messages, Lil Tjay appeared to threaten Offset, warning: “Wyaaaaaaaa ngl ima smack the whole shit out you.”
Offset fired back: “Lol huh, you joking, right? Just saw this pop up. You must be texting the wrong person. Boy, I’ll smoke you.”
The exchange became heated, with Offset dismissing Tjay’s threats and suggesting he wasn’t the one being addressed. However, when Tjay clarified he was simply after his $10,000, Offset seemed to cool down, replying: “Say dat.”
Despite the accusations, Offset has not publicly addressed Tjay’s claims. Instead, the Migos star welcomed the New Year in Dubai, flaunting luxury shopping sprees and an extravagant lifestyle on social media… seemingly refuting any notion of financial struggles.
