Popular rapper Lil Pump recently revealed his decision to step away from the music industry, expressing his ambition to become an astronaut. The announcement was made through a video shared by HipHopDX on various social media platforms earlier this week.
In the video, Lil Pump begins with a proclamation, stating, “PSA, PSA, “I will not be making music anymore. I retire. I’m finna go be an astronaut. Bye.” As expected, fans took to Twitter to respond to the rapper’s surprising career shift. Some trolls mocked his choice, commenting on the intellectual demands of being an astronaut, while others questioned his relevance in the music scene.
Lil Pump is no stranger to online trolling and negative comments. Despite facing substantial hate throughout his career, the rapper has consistently maintained a positive outlook, emphasizing the overwhelming support he receives in real-life interactions. In an interview with Complex in April, he confidently stated, “More people love me than hate me. “And I’ma say this right now: everybody who talks shit in my comments – every single body – I have never to this day seen one person walk up to me and say that shit to my face. Everything is on the internet. Nobody has ever walked up to my face and said nothing cr*zy. So this sh***s not even real. It’s fake to me.”
Continuing the interview, Lil Pump expressed his carefree attitude towards criticism, highlighting his primary goal of enjoying the music-making process. He acknowledged that if his music bothers some people, so be it. The artist’s latest album, Lil Pump 2, was released in March and has garnered significant attention from his fan base.
