Chicago rapper Lil Durk, whose real name is Durk Banks, finds himself in deeper legal trouble as additional federal charges have been filed against him.
The allegations now connect him to a murder-for-hire plot that claimed the life of Saviay’a “Lul Pab” Robinson, cousin of fellow rapper and rival Quando Rondo, in August 2022.
Initially arrested in October for conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire, Durk now faces even more severe accusations. In a revised indictment released by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California on Thursday, November 7, two additional charges have been added.
These include using interstate facilities to commit murder-for-hire that resulted in death, and using and possessing firearms — including a machine gun — in furtherance of a violent crime resulting in death.
The revised indictment has also positioned Lil Durk as the lead defendant, building upon an earlier case that implicated five other men. None of the individuals charged have entered a plea as of yet.
Lil Durk currently remains held without bond in a Miami jail and is expected to be transferred to Los Angeles for an arraignment in the coming weeks.
Prosecutors argue that the alleged hit on Quando Rondo’s cousin was retaliation for the death of Durk’s close friend, King Von, who was shot and killed in 2020 during a confrontation involving Rondo’s associates.
According to the prosecution, Durk is suspected of offering a bounty on Quando Rondo and allegedly providing funding to members of his OTF (Only the Family) crew to carry out the plot.
Further evidence presented by the prosecution indicates that an OTF associate of Lil Durk arranged for five co-conspirators to fly from Chicago to California just before the fatal incident. Records show Durk instructed his associate not to book any travel under names connected to him.
That same day, Durk also flew to California on a private jet alongside another individual allegedly involved in the conspiracy, identified as Kavon London Grant.
Authorities allege that Grant later purchased ski masks for the shooters and used a credit card linked to Durk to pay for hotel accommodations for the co-conspirators.
If convicted, Lil Durk and the other defendants face the possibility of life imprisonment for their alleged roles in this case. This high-profile indictment marks a critical moment in the ongoing feud that has rocked the hip-hop community.
