Rapper Lil Dicky, also known as David Burd, has recently made a significant real estate investment by becoming the new owner of Kenny G’s previous estate.
The luxurious property, designed by Ojai-based architect Kevin A. Clark in the late 1980s, spans an impressive 5,600 square feet and is situated in the hills of Studio City, Los Angeles.
Originally occupied by the Grammy-winning smooth jazz saxophonist Kenny G from 2007 to 2021, the estate garnered attention for its unique features and half-acre grounds.
After Kenny G sold the property for just under $3 million, the new owners embarked on an extensive remodeling project, revitalizing the residence. Last spring, the upgraded estate, boasting five bedrooms, five full bathrooms, and a powder room, was reintroduced to the market with a listing price of $7.5 million.
According to reports from Robb Report, tax records reveal that the property eventually changed hands for $6.3 million, slightly below the initial asking price. Lil Dicky, the 35-year-old Philadelphia native, is officially recorded as the buyer.
Despite the transaction’s public disclosure, Lil Dicky has not made any public statements regarding his acquisition of Kenny G’s former home.
The property itself boasts distinctive features, including rustic hardwood floors, multiple sets of French doors opening to picturesque gardens, a well-equipped gym, and a wood-paneled library with a fireplace.
The master bedroom, complete with its own fireplace, spa-style bath, and a private balcony offering hillside views, adds to the luxurious charm.
Additionally, a detached two-car garage, which includes a guest apartment formerly utilized as Kenny G’s home recording studio, contributes to the estate’s unique appeal.
Lil Dicky’s new real estate venture not only marks a significant purchase in the celebrity housing market but also underscores the allure of this Studio City property with its rich history and modern amenities.
