Kodak Black isn’t holding back when it comes to protecting his style. The rapper recently took to Instagram Live to call out NBA star LaMelo Ball, accusing him of copying his unique drip with the release of LaMelo’s Scooby-Doo-themed MB.04 sneakers from PUMA.
During the candid Instagram Live session, Kodak proudly showed off his custom van, designed to look like the iconic Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine. In his own animated style, he pointed out what he saw as a clear imitation.
“LaMelo Ball be on my drip,” Kodak said, referring to the sneaker collaboration that dropped just weeks after he debuted his custom ride. “I already saw how he copied me on my shit with the Scooby-Doo.
Who else probably ever did this shit before? I come different. If you fuck wit a n***a like that, you might as well just salute it. Just salute it, my boy.”
The “Super Gremlin” rapper wasn’t shy about taking credit for being an inspiration, not just to Melo, but to the entire culture. “Everybody be on my drip – the whole world. The whole industry be on my drip,” he continued. “It’s a good thing, though.”
Kodak Black’s fans seemed to back him up, flooding social media with comments applauding his creativity and accusing Melo of biting his style. Meanwhile, LaMelo Ball and PUMA have yet to respond to the rapper’s claims.
