In a heartfelt message shared on Friday (November 17), the protégé of the late rapper expressed his ongoing struggle with the loss of Flipper. “Don’t call/text me asking how I feel,” he wrote. “I’ll never get over this shit. Let me deal with it alone. Luv [blue heart emoji].”

Young Dolph met a tragic end on November 17, 2021, when he was fatally shot in Memphis, Tennessee while picking up cookies for his mother at Makeda’s Homemade Butter Cookies. The autopsy revealed that the 36-year-old sustained 22 gunshot wounds from various bullet entries and exits.
In remembrance of Young Dolph’s legacy, November 17 has been officially designated Adolph “Young Dolph” Thornton Jr. Day of Service by the state legislatures of Georgia and Tennessee.
