Kevin Durant wasn’t exactly hyped about Kendrick Lamar’s performance at the Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show… or the game itself.
When speaking to Dana Scott of The Arizona Republic, the Phoenix Suns star didn’t hold back his indifference. “It meant nothing to me,” Durant said bluntly when asked about the show.
For KD, Super Bowl Sunday wasn’t anything special. “It was a pretty boring day,” he admitted. “The game got out of hand.” The NBA superstar even confessed that he “didn’t pay attention” to Kendrick’s set and “kind of skimmed through the whole thing.”
Ironically, Durant’s words echoed Drake’s shady review of Future and Metro Boomin’s joint albums, We Don’t Trust You and We Still Don’t Trust You. On his diss track “Family Matters,” Drizzy famously claimed he “skimmed through” the projects, throwing shade at the duo.
While Kendrick’s halftime performance drew plenty of praise, it’s safe to say KD wasn’t moved by the moment. What do you think… was Durant being too harsh, or was he just keeping it real?
