Kendrick Lamar is back in the studio, working on fresh music, and he couldn’t resist some playful banter with his producer.
The legendary rapper, hailing from Compton, took to his alternate Instagram account, @jojoruski, on Tuesday (June 27) to post videos of himself and producer Scott Bridgeway in what appears to be a mobile recording studio.
In a lighthearted moment, K. Dot jokingly teased Bridgeway for wearing a bonnet, jokingly comparing him to Yvette, a character played by Taraji P. Henson in the 2001 film Baby Boy. Kendrick humorously exclaimed, “That dude jumped out of bed with the Baby Boy bonnet on!”
Furthermore, Kendrick shared another video showcasing Bridgeway crafting a beat on his laptop, complete with Kendrick’s signature ad-libs. He also treated his fans to a close-up selfie, revealing a post-workout sweat and a face peel mask. Scott Bridgeway has produced several notable tracks, including “Range Brothers,” a collaboration between Kendrick Lamar and Baby Keem, featured on Baby Keem’s debut album The Melodic Blue, released in 2022.
Bridgeway’s production credits extend beyond that, having contributed to Kanye West’s “Donda 2” album with the track “We Did It Kid,” as well as producing “54321” by Offset and “One of One” by pgLang artist Tanna Leone.
Earlier this month, Kendrick Lamar’s previously undisclosed Instagram account was uncovered, having been kept private until then. The account has rapidly garnered over 600,000 followers, offering glimpses into Kendrick’s personal life, including selfies, inspirational figures like 2Pac and Michael Jackson, and even heartwarming moments of K. Dot feeding his baby daughter.
