Kelly Rowland recently shared her biggest mistake during an interview on the popular podcast, Yeah, I F*cked That Up. Reflecting on her past, she revealed the unfortunate incident of unintentionally disclosing the gender of Beyoncé’s first child.
In a conversation with podcast host Billy Mann, Kelly expressed her remorse, describing the moment as the “worst ever” and “such a mistake.” She emphasized that it was not her place to reveal such personal information, as it was nobody’s business but Beyoncé’s.
According to TMZ, Kelly inadvertently disclosed the gender of Beyoncé’s baby during an interview with BANG Showbiz back in November 2011, shortly after Beyoncé’s pregnancy announcement. While discussing her excitement for the impending arrival and contemplating potential baby shower gifts, Kelly unintentionally used feminine pronouns, effectively confirming that the Carters were expecting a baby girl.
Kelly conveyed her joy for her sister and brother-in-law, stating, “I’m so happy for my sister and her husband. They’re so happy in this moment right now, as they should be. They’ve made a little bundle of love, I’m so excited for them. I have no idea what I’m going to buy Beyoncé at the baby shower because Jay is going to buy that little girl every single thing possible. She won’t be spoiled but she will be very well looked-after.”
Kelly openly expressed her regret to Billy, admitting that Beyoncé was disappointed by the slip-up. She emphasized that she had no intention of sharing the news and that the use of feminine pronouns had slipped out inadvertently. Kelly immediately realized her mistake, exclaiming, “uh-oh,” as she recognized the unintended disclosure.
