Kel Mitchell recently opened up about his tumultuous relationship with Dan Schneider during their time on the Nickelodeon show “All That.”
He recounted a particularly intense moment when Schneider allegedly cornered him in a closet and berated him.
In an appearance on Keke Palmer’s podcast, Kel Mitchell shared details of the alleged confrontation. He expressed dissatisfaction with Schneider’s writing and vision for the show, which eventually led to a heated argument.
According to Mitchell, Schneider demanded they discuss the matter in a closet, where he allegedly yelled numerous offensive remarks at Mitchell.
Kel Mitchell’s revelations come in the wake of more serious allegations against Schneider detailed in the book ‘Quiet on Set.’
The book includes accusations of misconduct involving inappropriate jokes for minors and sexual harassment. Schneider has denied these allegations.
At the time of the incident, Mitchell was 18 or 19 years old. He explained that instead of engaging in a physical altercation, he chose to walk away and leave the show.
Mitchell noted that the atmosphere of “All That” was shifting under Schneider’s direction, and he was unhappy with how his character was being portrayed.
