Comedian Katt Williams recently shared an intriguing backstory about his 2014 arrest alongside former Death Row CEO Suge Knight. In an exclusive podcast interview with ex-Geto Boys rapper Willie D, Williams disclosed that the incident was not as it seemed in the media.
The comedian clarified that their confrontation with a female photographer was driven by a shared desire to protect a child.
During the podcast episode aired on January 9, Williams recounted the events leading up to the arrest. The duo had a meeting with a hologram company in Beverly Hills, negotiating a licensing deal for holograms. The incident occurred near Rodeo Drive, in an alleyway where vehicles were parked.
Williams explained, “Suge brought his 5-year-old son along for the meeting. Before entering the hologram company, Suge’s son, being a child, ran behind a dumpster to relieve himself.” To their surprise, a woman emerged and began filming the child.
Williams emphasized that the confrontation with the photographer stemmed from a protective instinct towards Suge Knight’s son. He urged listeners to reconsider their perspective on the incident, stating, “I’ll tell you the story, and then, you tell me if that changes how you frame this.”
The comedian highlighted the child’s vulnerability and the violation of his privacy as the driving force behind their actions. Williams underscored the importance of understanding the context surrounding the arrest and emphasized the responsibility to shield children from intrusive situations.
