In a recent episode of The Joe Budden Podcast, Joe Budden shared his thoughts on Drake’s attempt to throw shade at NBA star DeMar DeRozan during a game between the Toronto Raptors and Sacramento Kings.
Instead of taking Drake’s behavior seriously, Budden found humor in the rapper’s supposed “tough-guy” act, poking fun at the way Drizzy tried to rattle DeRozan, who previously played for the Raptors.
Budden didn’t hold back, chuckling as he recounted Drake’s icy stare and muttered insults aimed at DeRozan. Adding context to the playful rivalry, DeRozan had appeared in Kendrick Lamar’s music video for “Not Like Us,” a song some see as a veiled diss aimed at Drake.
“I’m not even mad at Drake — he’s entitled to feel some type of way,” Budden said on his podcast. “But it’s not the conflict itself that’s the issue; it’s how he handled it. All that mean-mugging, the little side comments? It’s like… come on, man.”
Budden continued with his own brand of humor, teasing Drake’s “death glare” and “duck lips of death.” Laughing, he added, “Drake really showed up at the game giving DeRozan side-eye, like, don’t test me. I mean, don’t come to my game trying to give me the evil eye! I’ll throw the ball right at you, man.”
The former Slaughterhouse MC’s playful ribbing added a lighthearted twist to the celebrity antics, showing that even in the high-stakes world of hip hop and NBA fandom, there’s always room for a laugh.
