Rapper Jadakiss has recently vocalized his eagerness to join the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game, expressing a humorous yet earnest frustration over being repeatedly overlooked for the event.
Despite showcasing his basketball skills in widely circulated viral videos, the Yonkers native feels he hasn’t received the recognition he deserves in this arena.
During a guest appearance on PJ Tucker’s inaugural episode of Sneaker Lounge, the member of the hip-hop trio LOX addressed his desire to participate in the annual celebrity game.
In a lighthearted exchange, Tucker acknowledged Jadakiss’ basketball abilities and insisted that he belongs in the prestigious event. Jadakiss eagerly agreed, sharing his efforts to secure a spot.
“I exhausted my resources,” Jadakiss remarked. “I called everybody I know. I emailed, I text, I been working out, I been putting clips on the ‘Gram. I been going my hardest, and I still got snubbed. I gotta stop getting snubbed for the Celebrity All Star Game.”
In a jovial tone, Jadakiss listed a range of activities he’s undertaken to prove his worthiness for the game, eliciting laughter from Tucker and the audience.
“I been a taxpaying, clean citizen, a great father, I’m drinking water, I’m voting, I bought the church new Bibles. I did everything and they still snubbed me!” he exclaimed, with Tucker chuckling at his antics.
Concluding his plea, Jadakiss emphasized the urgency of his inclusion in the game while he’s still physically capable of competing.
“Don’t wait ‘til my moneymakers blow out and then call me and I’m looking horrible out there. I gotta play while I still got some fluidity in my knees.”
Expressing hope for the future, Jadakiss concluded, “Next year, I’m praying to get in.”
