It is being claimed that Ja Morant is acting like the most prominent gangster in Memphis.
According to a police report obtained by The Washington Post, the All-Star player for the Memphis Grizzlies has been accused of assaulting a teenager and brandishing a firearm at him.
Additionally, he is alleged to have made threatening comments towards the head of security at a mall in Memphis last summer. The security guard stated in the report that while one of Morant’s associates hit him, the player made menacing statements.
The whole situation began when Ja’s mother got into an argument with a Finish Line employee at the mall. She called Ja, who then arrived with a group of up to nine people. The head of security asked them to leave, but they refused, leading the police to intervene. During the altercation, one of Ja’s associates pushed the security guard in the head. According to the police report, Ja made a statement that made the guard feel threatened, and he subsequently filed a report. No arrests were made, but four days later, the incident with the teenager occurred.
These allegations have emerged approximately one month after Ja’s associates purportedly threatened Indiana Pacers staff with a red laser.
The Memphis Grizzlies declined to comment, while an NBA spokesperson stated that the league “takes allegations of inappropriate conduct very seriously.”
