Irv Gotti has firmly denied allegations of sexual assault brought forward by a former partner, branding the claims as unfounded and defamatory.
In a statement to TMZ, Gotti’s representative dismissed the allegations, suggesting that the woman in question resorted to legal action after failing to extort money from the music mogul, whose real name is Irving Lorenzo Jr.
“The lawsuit was filed after Mr. Gotti rejected an attempt by this individual to coerce a payment of money from him. The suit contains a single page of ‘facts’ that are unsworn, sparse, and categorically denied by Mr. Gotti,” the rep stated.
The representative further argued that the allegations trivialize the experiences of genuine abuse survivors. “Mr. Gotti has been surrounded by strong women his entire life — his mother, five sisters, and daughter.
The top employees at his company are women. His relationships with women have always been based on mutual respect, honesty, and empathy. Mr. Gotti’s reputation is now at stake.”
Gotti intends to vigorously contest the “baseless” lawsuit in court and is contemplating filing a defamation countersuit against the accuser.
The lawsuit, lodged in Miami-Dade, Florida, on July 11, accuses Gotti of multiple incidents of sexual assault and abuse between 2020 and 2022, spanning locations in Saint Martin, Miami, and Atlanta.
The plaintiff, referred to as Jane Doe, alleges that she met Gotti at a poker tournament in the summer of 2020. Following their meeting, Gotti reportedly invited her to join him on a vacation to Saint Martin, where he allegedly coerced her into sexual activity by threatening to send her home. “Due to his power and influence in the music world, she complied,” the suit claims.
Their relationship allegedly continued but was plagued by “constant abuse,” with Gotti accused of repeatedly forcing the woman to engage in “unwanted sexual acts” and subjecting her to verbal abuse.
After their breakup in 2022, the woman claims that Gotti defamed her within his extensive social network in Los Angeles, causing her to fear for her safety and avoid leaving her home.
“As a result of this sexually abusive relationship, Plaintiff has suffered severe emotional and psychological harm, necessitating psychiatric care,” the lawsuit details. “These injuries persist and continue to affect Plaintiff to this day.”
