
Italian social media influencer Yulia Burtseva has died at the age of 38 following a cosmetic procedure performed at a private clinic in Moscow, sparking an official criminal investigation.
According to Russian outlet MSK1, Burtseva underwent surgery on January 4, but her condition reportedly deteriorated shortly afterward. She was urgently transported to a hospital, where doctors later pronounced her dead.
Authorities in Moscow have since opened a criminal case, citing concerns of possible medical negligence. Investigators confirmed that multiple forensic evaluations are underway, including a full medical examination, to determine whether errors during or after the procedure contributed to her death.
Burtseva lived in Naples, Italy, with her husband Giuseppe and their young daughter. She had built a loyal following of more than 73,000 followers, frequently sharing intimate family moments and lifestyle content online.
Just hours before the surgery, Burtseva posted what would become her final message… a cheerful video filmed inside a Moscow coffee shop on the Russian social platform VK, captioned: “Good morning Moscow 😘.”
Her sudden death has sent shockwaves through the influencer community and reignited conversations around cosmetic surgery safety abroad.
