Hurricane Chris has shifted his stance following his initial criticism of 50 Cent over the recent Humor & Harmony Festival in Shreveport, LA. The rapper made headlines after blasting the G-Unit icon for not including local artists in the lineup and spending $500,000 on law enforcement during the four-day event.
Chris even labeled 50 Cent a “culture vulture” after Fiddy responded with a playful jab. However, Hurricane Chris now insists his intentions were not malicious and is open to a sit-down with 50 Cent to clear the air.
In a recent interview with KSLA News 12, Chris emphasized, “It’s no hate. It’s all love, but I felt the need to voice my opinion because I’ve been in Shreveport, and I care about this community.”
He continued, “I had no malice in my heart. My frustration stemmed from wanting to see my community respected. I felt he came into the city and disrespected our culture, and it upset me in the moment.”
Louisiana native Fredo Bang also weighed in on the situation, addressing Hurricane Chris directly: “If he didn’t include any Louisiana artists, any legends from here, then who am I?”
Chris further expressed his disappointment at the lack of opportunities for hardworking local artists. “Shreveport has talented artists—more than I can even name—who could have rocked those stages. It’s not just about me,” he added.
Ultimately, Hurricane Chris believes the whole situation was a “big misunderstanding” and is open to collaborating with 50 Cent in the future. He’s ready to move forward with a focus on unity and positivity, hoping to bridge the gap and uplift his community.
