It is alleged that GloRilla fired her bodyguard for his handling of the water bottle incident in Oakland, California. On March 2, the former bodyguard took to social media to reveal that he was terminated by the “Tomorrow” singer for not attacking the person who threw the water bottle.
“Girl, he is a professional licensed security guard, not Suge knight,” one person criticized GloRilla in an Instagram comment. “His job was to protect her, and he did that by removing her from the setting,” one other added. According to the ex-bodyguard, he did his job by ensuring GloRilla’s safety during the chaos that ensued when an angry fan threw a water bottle at her in the Oakland club.
However, the Memphis star purportedly instructed him to return to the venue and confront the culprit physically, which he refused to do. The ex-bodyguard argued that the fan did not directly throw the water in GloRilla’s face, and he was unwilling to risk losing his license or facing assault charges by engaging in unwarranted retaliation.
Fans appeared to be supportive of the former bodyguard’s actions after watching his video rant.
