Authorities are unraveling a chilling discovery in Hollywood after the mutilated and partially frozen remains of Celeste Rivas were found inside the trunk of a Tesla belonging to music artist D4vd. Investigators now believe the condition of her body may prevent them from ever establishing a clear cause of death.
According to law-enforcement sources, the L.A. County Medical Examiner received Rivas’s remains in extremely compromised condition. Her body was decapitated, her limbs were severed into pieces, and all parts were partially frozen… evidence that they had been stored intentionally before being left to thaw in the vehicle.
Police say the Tesla had been sitting unmoved on a Hollywood Hills street for several days near D4vd’s rented home. After the car was eventually towed, staff made the horrifying discovery in the trunk.
The remains were so severely damaged that investigators initially couldn’t determine whether the victim was male or female. While the Medical Examiner initially labeled the case an “apparent homicide,” officials now admit they may be unable to determine an official cause of death, likely listing it as undetermined due to the condition of the body.
Still, detectives in the LAPD Robbery-Homicide Division are treating the case as a criminal killing, and sources say an arrest can still be made even if the cause of death cannot be medically confirmed.
The investigation remains active as authorities work to piece together Rivas’s final moments in one of the most gruesome cases Hollywood has seen in years.
