French Montana and Kodak Black have joined forces once again to deliver a powerful collaboration titled “I Can’t Lie.” This highly-anticipated track has recently hit streaming services on June 2nd and is set to be featured on the soundtrack for French’s upcoming documentary, For Khadija, scheduled to premiere later this month.
The documentary, which delves into the inspiring immigration story of French Montana, traces his incredible journey from Morocco to the Bronx, where he ultimately achieved success in the rap industry. With executive production from Diddy and Drake, For Khadija promises to provide a captivating insight into the life of the Coke Boys capo.
“I Can’t Lie” showcases French and Kodak’s remarkable lyrical abilities, complemented by the hypnotic production from London On Da Track. French passionately raps about purchasing a new home for his aunt and upholding the legacy of his late collaborator, Chinx.
In his verses, French Montana confidently asserts, “I copped my auntie a crib, I copped a new Bugatti. Man, these hoes ain’t safe, I’m on my Irv Gotti. I can’t lie, turned my mother’s crib into a colosseum. Still do it for Chinx, ’til the day that I’ma see him.” The release of “I Can’t Lie” hints at the possibility of a larger collection of collaborations between French and Kodak, as they teased a joint project last summer.
During a video shared on social media, Kodak Black expressed, “Me and French Montana gon’ drop an album soon. My album on Spotify, make sure you playlist that sh***. I mean, forget everybody. Playlist my sh***. My sh**’s top rope. Me and French Montana’s sh*** is top rope too.”
French Montana further confirmed the exciting news by reposting the video on his Twitter and Instagram accounts, captioning it with, “KODAC X MONTANA ALBUM SHEEEESH 💥 coming soon.”
