Frank Ocean’s Coachella Performance Hype Builds with New Rehearsal Footage and BMW Collaboration
Frank Ocean fans are eagerly anticipating his headlining performance at the upcoming Coachella festival in Indio, California. New footage allegedly showing the elusive singer rehearsing has surfaced online, adding to the excitement.
The video, reportedly filmed from a nearby neighborhood, includes faint audio of what sounds like Frank singing his fan-favorite track “Nights” from his hit album “Blonde.” The Reddit user who uploaded the footage also claimed to have heard Frank performing a brand new track, which they described as “the most immaculate techno club music with Frank vocals.”
Frank has previously spoken about being inspired by electronic dance music (EDM) and different iterations of nightlife in his music, mentioning Detroit, Chicago, techno, house, and French electronic scenes. According to the Reddit user, Frank also performed “Biking,” “White Ferrari,” and “Nikes” during the rehearsal.
Adding to the anticipation, German car manufacturer BMW recently uploaded two videos on their U.S. Instagram page, referencing Frank Ocean and his music. The first video showed an orange BMW E30 M3 similar to the one featured on the cover of Frank’s 2011 mixtape “nostalgia, ULTRA.” The second video opened with a close-up of a road sign reading “Welcome to the city of Coachella” before revealing the aforementioned car in the Coachella Valley desert.
While further details about Frank Ocean’s Coachella set remain scarce, it will mark his first major festival performance in six years. Fans are also hoping for new music, as Frank’s last album, “Blonde,” was released in 2016. Despite being notoriously private about his creative process, Frank has recently rekindled hope that he will release new music. As anticipation builds, fans can’t wait to see what Frank has in store for his highly-anticipated Coachella performance.
