A Florida woman is facing serious charges after allegedly holding up a Dairy Queen at gunpoint… only to make off with just $1.50 from the tip jar.
44-year-old Allison Fetting was arrested after police say she stormed into a Coconut Creek Dairy Queen on February 20, 2024, at around 2:45 p.m., brandishing a black handgun. Instead of grabbing cash from the register, Fetting reportedly snatched the tip jar containing a mere $1.50 before fleeing the scene. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident, according to the Coconut Creek Police Department.
Authorities tracked her down a day later and charged her with felony petty theft in the second degree. While the crime occurred last year, Fetting was officially booked into Broward County jail just this past Friday.
This isn’t her first run-in with the law. Records show that Fetting previously served time for a 2003 robbery in Osceola County and has been linked to other theft-related crimes in Coconut Creek. She is currently being held at the Paul Rein Detention Facility, with her arraignment scheduled for Wednesday.
At this time, no attorney has been listed in court filings on her behalf. Authorities have not disclosed further details about the case.
