Authorities in Houston have issued an arrest warrant for rapper Finesse2Tymes, a signed artist with Atlantic Records. The police claim that Finesse2Tymes was involved in the alleged theft of a rental car. The incident occurred earlier this year, leading to an ongoing investigation.
According to ABC 13, the rental car in question, an Infiniti QX80 SUV valued at $72,200, was rented by a man named Ronald Bell from an Enterprise location in Houston on February 2. The car was supposed to be returned to the rental agency on March 10.
The rental car was not returned as scheduled, prompting Enterprise to send a 10-day demand letter to Ronald Bell approximately a month after the expected return date.
During a conversation with an Enterprise employee on April 20, Ronald Bell revealed that the vehicle was in the possession of Finesse2Tymes, whose real name is Ricky Hampton. Finesse2Tymes confirmed this claim when contacted by the employee and stated that he was in Atlanta with the car. He assured that he would resolve the matter by April 23.
On April 24, the rental car was officially reported stolen, and authorities discovered that someone was driving the car in the Houston area.
When the police located the vehicle on April 25, the woman driving it disclosed that she received the keys from her employer, Finesse2Tymes. She was aware that the car was a rental and overdue for return.
As a result of these events, Finesse2Tymes is now facing a felony charge of theft between $30,000 and $150,000.
