Quincy Jones, the music legend whose talent shaped the sounds of icons like Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra, and Will Smith, has passed away at age 91.
Known for his remarkable impact on the music industry, Jones left an indelible mark on genres ranging from jazz to pop.
According to his publicist Arnold Robinson, Jones died peacefully on Sunday evening at his Bel-Air home, surrounded by family
“Tonight, with full but broken hearts, we share the news of our father and brother Quincy Jones’ passing,” his family shared in a heartfelt statement.
“While this is an incredible loss for our family, we celebrate the extraordinary life he lived and know there will never be another like him.”
In honoring his legacy, the Jones family expressed their appreciation for the widespread support and kind words received, asking for privacy as they navigate this difficult time.
Instead of sending flowers, they’ve requested donations be made to The Jazz Foundation of America, a cause close to Jones’ heart, which supports jazz and blues musicians in need. Donations can be made at jazzfoundation.org.
Quincy Jones’ legacy remains unmatched, and his influence will be celebrated for generations to come.
