Madame Tussaud’s wax museum in Paris recently unveiled a new wax figure of Beyoncé, and it has sparked a significant backlash from the singer’s devoted fans.
The controversy arose as fans of the “Texas Hold ‘Em” artist felt that the wax figure’s skin tone was inaccurately lightened. One passionate admirer exclaimed, “I DON’T KNOW WHO THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE, BUT IT’S NOT MY QUEEN! THIS IS A WHITE WOMAN!” Another fan echoed this sentiment, stating, “Beyoncé may have light skin, but this is absurd.”
Critics also pointed out that the wax figure failed to capture Beyoncé’s distinctive features, with one fan lamenting, “Whitewashed and unrecognizable,” while another simply questioned, “Who is this supposed to be?”
As of now, Madame Tussaud’s has not responded to requests for comments regarding the controversy.
This incident is not the first time the museum has faced criticism for its portrayal of the 42-year-old Grammy-winning icon.
