A London family is pleading for urgent help to save their two-year-old son, Maison, who has been diagnosed with the rare and life-threatening blood disorder Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome (WAS).
The condition, which mainly affects young boys, weakens the immune system and causes severe bleeding and bruising.
Maison has spent much of his young life receiving treatment at Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, but doctors say he now urgently needs a stem cell transplant to survive.
In partnership with the Anthony Nolan charity, Maison’s family has launched the #MatchForMaison campaign, urging people aged 16 to 30 to register as potential stem cell donors.
They stress that finding a match could not only save Maison’s life but also provide hope for other children battling WAS and similar conditions.
If you’re between 16 and 30, you could be the match that saves Maison.
