Months after a Christmas Eve shooting at a Family Dollar, Justin Hodges has been arrested and charged with murder, aggravated assault, battery, and firearm possession in the death of Scott Melton, 34.
Police say Hodges, who was working off the books for his girlfriend, a store manager, shot Melton after a dispute. Surveillance video reportedly shows Hodges chasing Melton, striking him with his gun, then firing.
Hodges fled in his girlfriend’s car. She was later arrested for obstruction after lying to investigators. Authorities had offered a $10,000 reward before Hodges’ capture.
