The high-profile trial of Young Thug took a dramatic turn on Monday (August 12) as the state’s key witness, Kenneth Copeland, also known as Lil Woody, dropped a bombshell on the courtroom.
During his testimony, Copeland shocked the court by admitting that he had lied in several past statements, including those from 2015, in an attempt to avoid jail time.
Copeland’s outburst on the stand was unexpected, as he openly expressed his frustration with the prosecutors. “Like I told you before y’all called me to trial, I have lied,” he confessed.
“I made things up. I told you this before y’all brought me in this courtroom, and I’m telling you now. You asked me about 2015. I had got my life together. Y’all are trying to put this on my conscience, y’all are trying to put people’s lives in my hands.”
The tension in the courtroom escalated as Copeland continued his testimony, voicing his discontent with the legal process. “I don’t wanna be here. Y’all have pressured me, I’m tired of y’all, cause y’all know y’all wrong, and y’all Black people doing this to us,” he exclaimed.
Despite his explosive statements, Copeland made it clear that his actions were not intended to aid Young Thug, stating that he doesn’t “care nothing about him,” according to FOX.
