The exciting revelation came during Badu’s latest cover story with Billboard, where she’s also set to receive the prestigious Icon Award at the Billboard Women in Music 2025 event this month. Known for crafting legendary soundscapes for artists like Boldy James, Griselda, and Roc Marciano, The Alchemist’s signature production is expected to bring a fresh, yet nostalgic feel to Badu’s signature style.
Fans have been eagerly awaiting a new full-length project since the release of New Amerykah Part Two (Return of the Ankh) in 2010. Though she blessed listeners with her 2015 mixtape But You Caint Use My Phone, this upcoming album marks her official return to the studio in over a decade.
