Elon Musk cashes in on some of his Tesla stock to the tune of $6.9 billion. Yes, that’s right, $6.9 billion just like that. Musk, who offered to buy Twitter for $44 billion, seems to have buyer’s remorse. On the other hand, Twitter could care less, and they want the money that Musk agreed to pay them.
Musk doesn’t feel he should have to honor the deal because he changed his mind and no longer wants to buy Twitter. Musk said that Twitter has too many bots, and he can’t get a good account of what he’s buying. On the other hand, Twitter filed a lawsuit against Musk scheduled to start in October.
Musk has tried pushing the trial back to 2023 but hasn’t had any luck. Musk may be gearing up for the worse, just in case things don’t go as planned. There is a $1 billion breakup fee agreement, but Twitter wants Musk to honor the deal.
What do you think? Should Musk be required to purchase Twitter? Or should he be able to walk away from the deal?
