South Carolina prison guards uncovered a wild contraband drop after a drone delivered a full seafood-and-steak feast… plus weed and cigarettes… into the yard at Lee Correctional Institution.
Inside the bundle: raw steak, crab legs, Old Bay seasoning, marijuana baggies, and multiple cigarette cartons. The Department of Corrections joked it looked like inmates were prepping for an early #ContrabandChristmas crab boil.
Officials also seized the drone used in the drop. No arrests have been made as investigators work to find who orchestrated the airborne smuggling attempt.
Corrections spokesperson Chrysti Shain quipped, “The inmates expecting this package are probably feeling pretty crabby.”
Drones have become the newest challenge for prisons as smugglers continue upgrading their tactics to get contraband behind bars.
