“All My Life” by Lil Durk soared to the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, marking his third hit to achieve this feat. The track, featuring J. Cole, played a significant role in the success of Lil Durk’s Almost Healed album, which debuted with an impressive 125,000 units in its first week.
However, as the buzz around the collaboration grew, various speculations emerged, including one particular social media rumor alleging that Lil Durk paid J. Cole a staggering $978,000 for his verse.
Ibrahim Hamad, the co-founder of Dreamville Records, the label J. Cole is associated with, took to Twitter to address the swirling gossip surrounding the “All My Life” record. In response to the alleged $978,000 payout, Hamad succinctly dismissed the claim by posting a single blue cap emoji, a widely recognized symbol indicating the denial of falsehoods.
While the “🧢” reaction from Ibrahim Hamad strongly suggests his rejection of the misinformation, he refrained from providing further details on any potential undisclosed agreements tied to Lil Durk’s “All My Life” track. Lil Durk himself shed light on the collaborative process, sharing that he had been in regular communication with J. Cole and had been waiting for the perfect moment for him to express interest in joining the song.
Durk expressed his desire for the track to make a significant impact, specifically stating, “The song has to be big. I just knew I wanted J. Cole on this.”
Apart from J. Cole’s notable contribution, Lil Durk’s Almost Healed album boasts an impressive lineup of featured artists, including Alicia Keys, Future, 21 Savage, Kodak Black, Morgan Wallen, and the late Juice Wrld. Both J. Cole and Alicia Keys made appearances in music videos for tracks from the project, further adding to the album’s appeal.
By debunking the rumors and clarifying the collaboration process, Dreamville Co-Founder Ibrahim Hamad aims to set the record straight regarding the financial aspects of Lil Durk’s “All My Life” verse, emphasizing the artistic significance and the collective effort behind the successful track and album.
